The Law Faculty Hosted the 3rd Jiangsu Law Society Seminar on Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Rule of Law
On June 10, the Jiangsu Law Society's Research Center on Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law hosted the third edition of its academic seminar in Yangzhou. This event was a collaborative effort involving several prestigious institutions: the Jiangsu Law Society's Research Center on Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law, the Higher Education Collaborative Research Mechanism on Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law, Nanjing Normal University's Research Center on the same topic, along with the Law Schools of both Yangzhou University and Nanjing Normal University, the Institute for the Modernization of Rule of Law in China at Nanjing Normal University, and the editorial department of 'Research on Modernization of Rule of Law.'
The opening ceremony featured speeches from several distinguished guests: Professor Zhang Wenxian, a key figure in the China Law Society and a leader in the research of Xi Jinping's legal thought; Zhou Jiyi, President of the Jiangsu Law Society; Zhang Yaowu, a senior official in Yangzhou's political and legal circles; Zhou Rujun, Deputy Secretary of Yangzhou University's Party Committee; and the university's Vice President, Dr. Wang Chengtang. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Gong Pixiang, the Director of the Research Center and a prominent academic in this field.
Participants included nearly a hundred experts and scholars from across the legal and academic communities in China. They represented top universities and institutions such as Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University, and many others across Jiangsu province and beyond. Additionally, senior journalists from leading media outlets like the Legal Daily and Jiangsu TV attended the conference.
The seminar fostered a rich, multidimensional exploration of Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law, with a particular emphasis on its theoretical underpinnings in legal education. The discussions were characterized by their innovative and practical approach, demonstrating the profound connection between the study of Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law and the advancement of legal education and talent development.
