The Law School's Zhenjiang Alumni Chapter Inauguration Successfully Held

Yangzhou University's Law School alumni convened in Zhenjiang for the inaugural assembly of their local chapter on the afternoon of July 22, 2023. Distinguished university officials, including Wang Chengtang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Yangzhou University, and Chen Keqin, Director of the External Liaison Office, were present. They, alongside faculty members and representatives from various alumni chapters, witnessed the birth of this new alumni network. The event was orchestrated by Ling Ling, a fellow alumna.


During the meeting, Zhou Sihan, an alumnus, reported on the chapter’s preparatory activities. Wang Wenlang, another alumnus, proposed a council lineup and elicited feedback for a vote. Director Chen Keqin officiated the chapter's establishment by reading the approval document.


Professor Wang Chengtang ceremoniously awarded the chapter with its plaque and flag, signifying its formal recognition. In a subsequent gesture, Director Chen Keqin and Secretary Hua Ruifeng of the Law School conferred appointment letters to the inaugural council members. The newly elected President Chen Bing delivered a heartfelt speech about his lifelong bond with the institution, followed by congratulatory messages from alumni representatives and Wang Bo, head of the Yangzhou Alumni Chapter.


The ceremony featured the signing of a funding agreement to bolster the Law School’s Development Fund, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Huang Wenting accepted the contributions on behalf of the law faculty. Secretary of the Party Committee Hua Ruifeng warmly congratulated the new chapter and underscored the concurrent anniversaries of the Law School and legal studies program, heralding a new era of collaboration. He briefed the attendees on the school's achievements and urged the new council to be the link that unites and propels the alumni and university forward.


Vice President Wang Chengtang highlighted the university's strategic focus on alumni engagement as a cornerstone for growth. He praised the alumni’s invaluable role and advocated for their continued support as the university strides towards its ambitious goals. Wang expressed his hopes for the Zhenjiang Alumni Chapter to strengthen the bond between the alumni and their alma mater, contributing to the university's flourishing future.
